What to Expect with FortuneSix
Q&A
1. General Questions
What does FortuneSix do?
FortuneSix helps companies manage sourcing, product development, supplier coordination, and trade-related operations in China.
We support clients through a structured, commission-free service model that gives each project clearer supplier visibility, commercial control, and China-side execution.
Where is FortuneSix located?
FortuneSix is based in Ningbo, China, and İstanbul, Türkiye.
Our China-side position allows us to communicate directly with manufacturers, visit factories when needed, coordinate local processes, and support clients who are not physically present in China. Meanwhile, our Istanbul office makes it easy for us to stay connected with our clients across the Western market.
Do you work with international clients?
Yes. FortuneSix works with clients globally.
Our services are suitable for companies, entrepreneurs, brands, importers, and business teams that need structured support for sourcing, product development, supplier verification, inspection, logistics coordination, or China-related trade operations.
What makes FortuneSix different from traditional sourcing agents?
FortuneSix works with a commission-free model.
We do not hide supplier information or earn commissions from order value. Our role is to support the client with a clear service scope, defined deliverables, and transparent supplier and pricing information.
2. Services: The Phase Model
What are FortuneSix’s main sourcing services?
FortuneSix works with two sourcing paths:
Standard Product Sourcing
For products that already exist within a manufacturer’s product range or production capability.Product Development & Sourcing
For products that need to be developed, engineered, or technically defined before production.
Both sourcing paths follow the FortuneSix Phase Model.
What is Standard Product Sourcing?
Standard Product Sourcing is for products that factories already know how to produce.
This does not mean the product must be in stock. It may be produced after order, selected from a catalogue, or adapted from an existing factory model.
This path can also include minor adjustments such as logo application, packaging changes, color options, or simple specification updates.
What is Product Development & Sourcing?
Product Development & Sourcing is for projects where the product needs development before production.
This applies when the product requires a new concept, drawing, technical requirement, structural change, material decision, prototype, tooling, engineering review, or feasibility assessment.
What is the difference between Standard Product Sourcing and Product Development & Sourcing?
The difference is whether the product already exists within a factory’s production capability.
If manufacturers already know how to produce the product, it is usually Standard Product Sourcing.
If the product needs technical development before it can be produced, it falls under Product Development & Sourcing.
What is the FortuneSix Phase Model?
The FortuneSix Phase Model is our structured way of managing sourcing projects.
Instead of treating sourcing as one undefined process, we divide the work into clear phases with specific purposes, deliverables, and decision points.
What are the phases?
The model includes three main phases:
Phase A: Manufacturer Identification & Verification
We identify suitable manufacturers, verify supplier options, and prepare the first commercial comparison.
Phase B: Commercial Terms Alignment & Order Placement
We support supplier selection, sample coordination, commercial term alignment, and order finalization.
Phase C: Production, Documentation & Shipment Follow-Up
We monitor production progress, coordinate required documents, support shipment planning, manage logistics communication, and track delivery status.
Do both sourcing paths follow the Phase Model?
Yes.
Both Standard Product Sourcing and Product Development & Sourcing follow the Phase Model.
The structure remains the same, but the scope, complexity, and pricing logic may differ depending on the project.
Why does FortuneSix use a phase-based model?
The phase-based model helps clients avoid unclear sourcing work.
It shows what is being evaluated, what has been confirmed, what decision needs to be made, and what happens next.
This gives the project better structure, visibility, and control from the first evaluation to final delivery.
What are Phase Credits?
Phase Credits are prepaid phase units designed for companies with ongoing sourcing needs, multiple products, or long-term China-side coordination requirements.
With Phase Credits, clients can use prepaid phase units across different products, phases, or sourcing priorities.
What is the benefit of Phase Credits?
Phase Credits give your sourcing work continuity, a per-phase cost advantage, and a structured process tied to clear deliverables and decision points.
They are useful for clients who expect to manage more than one product or sourcing phase over time.
3. Pricing and Fees
Do you charge commission on orders?
No. FortuneSix does not charge commission on order value.
We work with service fees based on the scope of work, not hidden commissions from suppliers or order amounts.
How are Standard Product Sourcing fees calculated?
Standard Product Sourcing follows fixed phase-based service fees.
This is because the process is more predictable when the product already exists within a manufacturer’s product range or production capability.
How are Product Development & Sourcing fees calculated?
Product Development & Sourcing follows tailored phase-based service fees.
The fee depends on the product’s technical complexity, development scope, prototype needs, tooling requirements, and production feasibility work.
4. Services: Standalone Services
Can I work with FortuneSix without starting a full sourcing project?
Yes.
FortuneSix also offers Standalone Services for specific sourcing, verification, inspection, logistics, and China-side business needs.
These services can be engaged independently or added to any phase of your sourcing process.
What are Standalone Services used for?
Standalone Services are suitable when you need targeted support for a specific task.
Examples include manufacturer verification, factory visits, production inspection, logistics quotation comparison, packaging coordination, trade fair reporting, or China business trip support.
Can Standalone Services be added to the Phase Model?
Yes.
Standalone Services can be used independently, but they can also support a specific phase of your sourcing process when extra China-side assistance is needed.
5. Suppliers
How do you verify suppliers?
Supplier verification may include checking basic company information, business scope, credibility indicators, online presence, certification information, legal risk signals, and other available background details.
The depth of verification depends on the service scope selected.
Will I receive the supplier’s details?
Yes.
FortuneSix operates with transparent supplier information. We do not hide the supplier from the client.
Our role is not to act as the supplier. Our role is to help you evaluate, communicate, compare, and manage the process with better visibility and control.
Can you help if I already have a supplier?
Yes.
If you already have a supplier, FortuneSix can support with verification, factory visit, production inspection, commercial communication, logistics coordination, or problem-solving depending on the project need.
6. Quality, Production, and Logistics
Do you inspect products?
Yes, inspection can be arranged depending on the project scope.
This may include office-based product inspection, on-site production inspection, final pre-shipment inspection, or container loading supervision.
Do you handle production follow-up?
Yes.
Production monitoring is part of Phase C when the project continues into production execution.
We help track progress, communicate with suppliers, follow key timing points, and identify issues during the production process.
Do you support shipping and logistics?
Yes.
FortuneSix can support shipment planning, logistics quotation comparison, communication with logistics partners, documentation coordination, and delivery status tracking.
The exact logistics support depends on the project scope and destination country.
7. Getting Started
How can I start working with FortuneSix?
You can start by booking a meeting and sharing your product, project stage, target market, timeline, and current challenges.
After reviewing your situation, we recommend the most suitable path, phase, or standalone service.
What information should I prepare before contacting FortuneSix?
Useful information includes:
• Product name or category
• Photos, links, drawings, or technical documents if available
• Target country or market
• Estimated order quantity
• Current supplier status, if any
• Timeline expectations
• Main problem you want to solve
Do I need a registered company to work with FortuneSix?
For serious sourcing, supplier communication, and order placement, working through a registered business is strongly recommended.
For early discussion, feasibility review, or learning stage support, you can still contact us before your company setup is fully ready.
Do you offer free sourcing?
No. FortuneSix does not offer full sourcing work for free.
We may review your project at an initial level to understand whether we can support it, but supplier search, verification, comparison, coordination, and execution are paid services.
How long does a sourcing project take?
Timeline depends on the product, supplier response, sample requirements, production schedule, and logistics route.
Standard Product Sourcing is usually more predictable. Product Development & Sourcing may take longer because technical review, prototyping, tooling, or feasibility work may be required before production.
